Michael A. Leary

LEARY, MICHAEL A. of Walpole formerly of Winthrop passed away on January 25, 2025 at the age of 71. Beloved husband and best friend of Cynthia F. (Conley) Leary who he married in 1985. Brother of Timothy Leary of Winthrop, Brian Leary of Boston, Christopher Leary of Winthrop, Tricia Canario of Melrose and the late Maureen Shanahan. Son of the late Arthur and Helen (Driscoll) Leary. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Michael was born in Winthrop and was a graduate of St. Domenic Savio High School class in 1971 in East Boston, MA. He then went on to graduate from the University of Notre Dame in 1975. Most of Mike’s career was spent in IT project management, working for NYNEX, Digital Equipment Corp, and Fidelity Investments. Mike was a people person and will always be remembered for his kind, congenial manner. His love of his family and friends was seconded by his devotion to Notre Dame and Boston sports teams. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 4-6pm at the Kraw Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. Norwood, MA. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025 11am at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Norwood. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, Norwood.
