Michael A. Maresco

MARESCO, MICHAEL A. of Norwood passed away on November 12, 2022 at the age of 95. Beloved husband of NellRose (Boudreaux) Maresco of 66 years. Devoted father of Denise L. Homer and her husband Mark of Mansfield, Michael G. Maresco of Norwood, Carol Tedeschi of PA and Christopher Maresco and his wife Pauline of RI. Brother of Regina DiRusso of FL. Cherished grandfather of Gregory Homer of AZ, Dylan Maresco of RI and Brianna Homer of AZ. Son of the late Gregory Maresco and his wife Lena. Michael was a Quality Control Engineer; his work was primarily in the aeronautical field and some military. He worked on several projects with NASA, including the Mercury space capsule that astronaut Alan B Shepard rode on and the Chandra (NASA's flagship x-ray telescope) launched aboard the Space Shuttle Columbia. His co-workers used to tell us that when they needed to find Michael, they would just step out into the hallway and listen for his laugh. He loved antiques and later in life opened an antiques shop; his specialty was collecting and repairing old clocks and pocket watches. If there was a yard sale or antique show around, you could be sure to find him there. Sundays were his days to barbecue; if it was snowing, he'd shovel a path to the grill. He was a longtime member of the Greater Boston Watch and Clock Society and a member of the Norwood Historical Society. Funeral from the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. Norwood, Friday, November 18, 2022 at 9:30am followed by a funeral mass at 10:30am at St. Timothy Parish, Norwood. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022 from 4-8pm. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, Norwood, MA.
