Mildred "Millie" C. (Shimsky) Sanborn

SANBORN, Mildred C. "Millie" Lifelong resident of Norwood, passed away on July 16, 2022. She was 95 years old. Born and raised in Norwood, Millie spent many summers enjoying the beaches of Marshfield. She worked for many years for the Bird and Son Company in East Walpole. She enjoyed traveling throughout the US and Europe and was happiest surrounded by her family, friends and neighbors. She will be missed by all who knew her. Millie was the dear and devoted wife of the late George Sanborn, retired Sgt. Norwood Police Department. Loving daughter of the late Benjamin and Michelina (Abucewicz) Shimsky. Dear sister of the late Frank Shumski, Helen Grote, Jane Olejarz, Andrew Simski and Irene McDermott. Loving aunt of Richard Shumski of Buzzards Bay, Carole Falcone of Norwood, Debbie Giguere of Wrentham, Dennis Beaulieu of Washington and Linda Travers of Foxboro. Millie is also survived by many other nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great nephews. Millie's Funeral Service will be held Wednesday July 20, 2022 at 12 noon at the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. NORWOOD. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 from 10am-12noon, Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Millie's memory may be made to the charity of your choice. Millie will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery in Norwood. The family suggests if anyone attending the wake to wear a mask due the increase of Covid cases.
