Mildred A. (Pinelli) Campo, age 91, a resident of Wrentham and formerly of Norwood, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026, surrounded by the love, comfort, and care of her family at All-American Assisted Living in Wrentham. She was the devoted and loving wife of the late Joseph J. Campo, to whom she was married to for 68 loving years at the time of his passing on April 13, 2021.
Born in Boston, Mildred (affectionately known as "Millie") was the third of four children born to Sabino and Grace (Lanza) Pinelli. She grew up surrounded by many aunts, uncles, and cousins in the North End of Boston. Although her family later moved to West Roxbury, her heart was always in the North End, and she took many weekend trips to be with her extended family in the place she loved so dearly.
A trip to Old Orchard Beach, Maine in her younger years would prove to be fate, as it was there that Millie met the love of her life, Joseph. Mildred and Joseph married in April 1953 and eventually built their forever home in Norwood, where they raised their family together.
Millie’s first priority was always the love and care of her three children, often sacrificing her own needs for theirs. She was a fabulous cook and homemaker. Her nightly home-cooked meals and Sunday dinners with extended family were the glue that kept everyone connected, and she took great pride in creating a warm, safe, and loving home. As her children grew older, she went on to work as a sales associate at Macy's Department Store.
In her spare time, Mildred enjoyed sewing and decorating her home. She was an exceptionally skilled seamstress, talented at making clothes, drapery, and pillows, and even upholstering furniture. She and her husband shared a love of travel, enjoying trips both within the United States and abroad. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family and the many cherished memories they created together, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mildred was the mom who would stand by the door to wave after a visit; call you when it was snowing to make sure the family was home safe; show up with food when you were sick; or simply be there to listen when you needed help or support. A resume of accomplishments doesn’t measure the value of a person—it’s the way a person loves and cares for others. For those reasons, Millie was highly accomplished. Her family is forever grateful for the privilege of being able to call her wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her laughter and smile are forever ingrained in their hearts and minds and she will be deeply missed.
Mildred is survived by her loving children: Lorraine Shamon and her husband Bill of Walpole, Greg Campo and his wife Cindy of Wrentham, and Carolyn Campo of Wrentham. She was the proud and devoted grandmother of Nick Campo, Chris Campo, Joe Shamon, Tyler Campo, and Steven Boudrow. She will also be deeply missed by her two great-grandchildren, Penelope Campo and Sloan Campo, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and her friends and caretakers at All American.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mildred was predeceased by her siblings, Michael Pinelli, Evelyn Anderson, and Grace Piccolo.
Visiting hours will be on WEDNESDAY, July 8, 2026, from 10:00a.m.-11:30a.m. in the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. Norwood, MA. A Funeral Service will be held following the visitation at 11:30a.m. in the funeral home.
Mildred will be laid to rest with her husband at a later date in Highland Cemetery in Norwood.
