Noreen "Reeny" Barbara Connolly

Noreen B. Connolly "Reeny" age 78, died January 7, 2022 at The Landings of Genesee after a lengthy illness.
Born in Norwood, MA., she was the daughter of William S. and Nora V. Connolly. Noreen was a graduate of Norwood High School and then earned a diploma in Nursing from The Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing. She then earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Boston College and in 1979 she received a Masters of Science in Nursing and Health Care Administration degree from The University of Michigan as a Kellogg's Fellow.
Noreen's nursing career spanned from working in the Boston area to Michigan where she would settle. She held many positions over the years from staff R.N. , staff development director, and nursing and hospital administrator. During the final years of her career, Reeny was the Vice President for Nursing Services at Saint Joseph Hospital in Flint Michigan and then Chief Nursing Officer at The West Branch Regional Medical Center. She was well regarded by her colleagues and coworkers at all levels.
Reeny was an avid golfer and participated in many leagues. She had a special fondness for Humarock , where her family once had a cottage and enjoyed sharing memories of those days. She enjoyed traveling especially her trips to Ireland and was proud of her strong Irish heritage. She had many friends who will remember the many Saint Patrick's Day parties that she enjoyed hosting. Reeny loved black labs especially her beloved dogs Cleopatra, Connemara, and Izabella.
Noreen is survived by her brother William S. Connolly of Walpole, nieces Christine Libby and her husband Arthur of Walpole, Noreen Kostka and her husband Kenneth of Falmouth, Maribeth Hughes and her husband Steven of Foxboro, Erin Bardanis and her husband Emanuel of Medfield , nephew Thomas Connolly and his wife Jennifer of Norwood and many nieces and nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her brother Thomas F. Connolly and his wife Martha and sister in law Mary Connolly. The family would like to thank her dear friend Janet Westhoff of Flint, Michigan for the many years of friendship and care for Reeny.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours on March 26, 2022 from 9-10 a.m. at Kraw Kornack Funeral Home, 1248 Washington Street Norwood, MA followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Timothy Parish 650 Nichols St. Norwood. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery Norwood, MA. In lieu of flowers donations in Noreen's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association 309 Waverly Oaks Rd. Waltham, MA 02452.
