Oliver M. Melvin

MELVIN, OLIVER M. of Norwood passed away on November 1, 2018 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of the late Ellen "Helen" (Hynes) Melvin. Devoted father of Mary Munro of Norwood, Margaret M. Melvin of Norwood and Eamon P. Melvin and his wife Ingrid of Needham. Cherished grandfather of Olivia Munro, Joseph Munro, Maura Munro, Sean Munro, Timothy Melvin and Brian Melvin. Brother of Mel M. Melvin of Ireland and the late Mary Melvin, John Melvin, Timothy Melvin, Maureen Melvin, Jo McGlynn, Evelyn Coppinger, Margaret Melvin and Angela Scully. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Son of the late John Patrick and Mary (Fahy) Melvin. Oliver was a retired manager for the Boston Housing Authority. He was also a Korean War US Army Veteran. Funeral from the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. Norwood, Monday Nov. 5, 2018 at 10am followed by a funeral mass at 11am at St. Catherine of Siena Church Norwood. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018 from 2-6pm. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery Norwood.
