Patricia A. Dabrowney

January 1, 1941 — July 25, 2021

DABROWNEY, Patricia A. passed away on July 25, 2021 at the age of 80. Born in Minersville, PA, Patricia and her parents moved to Norwood when she was an infant. A lifelong resident of Norwood, she attended The Cotting School, graduating in 1960. She became an institution there, working as an executive secretary until her retirement in 2005, and serving for many years on the Alumni Association's executive board.
An active member of her community, Pat served as a lector at St. George's church, and was a longtime member of both the Norwood Lodge of Elks and the Emblem Club, serving both in various leadership roles. She was particularly proud of her term as the Exalted Ruler of the Norwood Lodge of Elks. Family members were the recipients of many of her sewing and knitting projects over the years, including wedding, baptism, and first communion gowns. Despite a lifetime of physical challenges, her resilience, fierce independence, and sharp wit were mainstays throughout her life.
She was predeceased by her parents, John and Isabel (Goba) Dabrowney and her sister, Joan Ostrowski. She leaves her brother-in-law, Thomas Ostrowski; her nieces Susan Ransden (Jeffrey) and Sonya Wells (Thomas Jr.), her nephew Kenneth Ostrowski (Michelle) and grandnephews and nieces Mitchell and Emmett Ransden, Madison and Marissa Ostrowski, Jordan and T.J. Wells.
Funeral from the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. Norwood, MA Friday, August 6, 2021 at 8:30am followed by a funeral mass at 11am at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Norwood. Visiting hours will be held on Friday morning from 8:30am-10:30am. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, Norwood, MA.
