Patrick Folan

Patrick Folan, age 93, a longtime resident of Norwood, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at home, surrounded by love, comfort, and the care of his two daughters. He was the loving and devoted husband of the late Bridget (Hanlon) Folan.

Born in Inverin, County Galway, Ireland, Patrick was the youngest of four children born to the late Peter and Annie (Ridge) Folan. He was raised in Ireland and immigrated to the United States in the 1950s where he embarked on a successful career as a carpenter with Carpenters Local Union 327 (formerly Local 67) specializing in finish carpentry. His dedication to his craft not only brought him professional fulfillment but also allowed him to lend his talents to friends and family through various side projects.

Patrick cherished the rich heritage of his homeland throughout his life and was an active member and past president of the Norwood Irish Music Club. A devout Catholic, he was a longtime parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Parish. Patrick had a passion for woodworking and painting canvas landscapes, both activities showcasing his creativity. He enjoyed tending to his garden and listening to Irish music. Patrick also loved cheering on his favorite team, the Boston Bruins and spending time with his granddog, Parker. Patrick is survived by his beloved daughters, Michelle Folan and Áine Folan-Reine and her husband Steven; his grandchildren, Alexander and Eva Reine; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, Patrick is predeceased by his siblings John Folan, Mary Flaherty, and Martin Folan.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend Visitation on TUESDAY, October 28, 2025 from 9:00 am until 10:30 am in the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, 1248 Washington Street, Norwood, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial for the repose of his soul, which will be celebrated at 11:00 am in St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 547 Washington Street, Norwood.

Patrick will be laid to rest with his late wife in the Highland Cemetery, Norwood.
