Richard D. Lempitski, Jr.
Born: September 9, 1957
Died: February 15, 2026 (Age 68)
Richard D. Lempitski, Jr., affectionately known as “Ricky”, of Attleboro, formerly of Brimfield, Franklin, Needham, born in Natick, Massachusetts, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly from natural causes at his home in Plainville, Massachusetts.
Upon graduating from Newton North Trade School with a concentration in mechanics, Ricky enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he proudly served and ultimately attained the rank of Master Sergeant. During his service, he was stationed in Alaska, where he maintained electrical generators on base. He was formally recognized for restoring electrical power to a small town during a severe blizzard.
After being transferred to St. Albans, Vermont, Ricky met his first wife, Cheryl. Following his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he began a long and dedicated career as a generator technician with Cummins Diesel, where he worked faithfully for 43 years. Together, Ricky and Cheryl had two sons, Richard D. Lempitski III and Matthew Lempitski.
In 2009, Ricky met his second wife, Tracy Ann, of Attleboro, Massachusetts. From this union, Ricky welcomed his third son, Taylor Lempitski.
Ricky was known as an exceptionally hard-working man, maintaining a six-day workweek throughout his entire career. In recent years, he served as Shop Steward, delivering a union speech that was broadcast on local television news on behalf of his union. Outside of work, Ricky enjoyed attending New England Patriots games, playing the guitar, riding his Harley, golfing, and skiing.
Ricky, Loving son of Richard D. Lempitski of Natick and the late Wanda (Bedus) Lempitski, is survived by his three sons: Richard D. Lempitski III and his wife Sherry Lempitski of Southbridge, Massachusetts; Matthew Lempitski of Hardwick, Massachusetts; and Taylor Lempitski of Attleboro, Massachusetts. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Alicia Lempitski and Matthew Lempitski Jr.; his brothers, Paul Lempitski and his wife, Iwona, and Eddie Lempitski and his wife, Joanna; as well as his father, Richard D. Lempitski, of Natick, Massachusetts.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, from 4-7pm at the Kraw Kornack Funeral Home, 1248 Washington St., Norwood, MA 02062. A funeral home service will be held on Tuesday at 7pm, following the visitation. All other services and burial will be held at a later date.
