O'GORMAN, Richard J. of Walpole, formerly of Norwood, passed away on Jan. 9, 2017 at the age of 74. Beloved husband of the late Pauline M. (Roslauskas) O'Gorman. Devoted father of Maureen E. Metayer and her husband David of Norwood, Tracey A. O'Gorman of Wrentham, and Kelley M. O'Gorman Christy of Walpole. Brother of Nora "Betty" DelConte and her late husband Walter of Bourne, Margaret "Peggy" Pelletier and her late husband Roger of Norwood, and the late Mary Kennedy and Eileen Fitzgerald. Brother in law of John "Jack" Kennedy of Framingham. Cherished grandfather of Tamara, Erin, Danny, James "Jake", Bryan, and Kylin. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Son of the late Daniel R. and Nora J. (Lydon) O'Gorman of County Cork and County Spiddal Ireland. Dick was born in Norwood and graduated Norwood High School Class of 1959. He continued his education at Polaroid in Waltham and at Northeastern University. Dick was a retired Senior Technical Specialist for Polaroid Corp. in Waltham and Norwood, working there for almost 40 years. He was a member of the Norwood Irish Music Club, the Irish Cultural Center in Canton, and was a big fan of the Bruins, Patriots, NASCAR, and cruising local Hot Rod shows. In addition, Dick loved High School hockey, especially the Norwood Mustangs, but was known to cheer on Walpole hockey as well. Funeral from the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. Norwood MA, Friday Jan. 13, 2017 at 10am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 am in St. Catherine of Siena Church Norwood. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday Jan. 12, 2017 from 4-8pm. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery Norwood, MA. If desired, memorial gifts in Richard's memory can be made to The Irish Cultural Center of New England, 200 New Boston Drive, Canton, MA 02021.
