Robert L. "Bob" Koenig Jr.

Robert L. Koenig, Jr. (Bob), of Norwood, formerly of West Roxbury, passed away on January 28, 2023. Bob was the devoted husband of Kathleen (Thornton) and son of the late Robert Sr. and Bridget (Landers) Koenig. He was 83 years old.


Bob grew up in Jamaica Plain and was a 1957 graduate of Boston Technical High School. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force and attended the University of Massachusetts. He worked for many years as an operator for the MBTA. Bob was an avid reader and lover of classical music. He was a fan of the Boston sports teams and was happiest surrounded by his family and his days at the beach.


Bob was the loving father of Robert Koenig and his wife Leslie of Louisville, KY, Douglas Koenig of Norwood and the late Matthew Koenig. He was the cherished Grandpa of Graham and Max, dear brother of Stephen Koenig and his wife Anne of Dedham, dear brother in law of Mary Quinn, Dorothy Thornton, Carolyn Williams and Tricia Jordan. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.


Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday February 2, 2023, from 9 - 11 A.M at the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home at 1248 Washington St., Norwood. Funeral Home service at 11:00 A.M. followed by burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in West Roxbury. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
