Robert “Bob” Raichle of Walpole passed away peacefully on November 2, 2024 at the age of 78.
Bob was the devoted husband to the late Judith A. Raichle, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage until her death in 2022. He was the loving father of Laura Hayes of Canton, Rebecca Raichle and her husband John Monette of Canton, and Robert K. Raichle of Walpole, and cherished grandfather to Liam and Caileen Hayes. His parents, Kurt and Marguerite Raichle, and his siblings, Marguerite Walsh and Richard Raichle, predeceased him.
Bob was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from LaSalle University. He later attained his MBA from Clark University in Worcester, MA. He married his life partner, Judy, and three years later, they were a family of four. Bob moved his young family to New England for a job at Electric Boat, and then to Massachusetts for a position at Digital Equipment Corporation in Maynard where he worked as a purchasing agent. Bob and Judy welcomed their third child the same year. Bob worked for several other companies during the course of his career, but he was most fond and most proud of the years he spent at DEC.
Bob enjoyed the ocean, movies, and cheering on the local sports teams, especially the Red Sox and Celtics. When it came to football, though, Bob was a steadfast Philadelphia Eagles fan.
Bob’s biggest joy was his family. As his health declined, he loved recalling family vacations, trips to the Cape, time spent with his grandchildren, and favorite stories, all told with his trademark sense of humor. His family members were his favorite people, he said, and the best accomplishment of his life.
Arrangements are through the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home in Norwood. Private services will be held at a later date.
