HARUKEWICZ, ROBERT W. of Canton formerly of Norwood passed away suddenly on August 2, 2025, at the age of 66. Beloved son of the late Charles A. and Mary (Kosmenko) Harukewicz. Devoted father of Dante A. Harukewicz of Revere. Loving brother of Laura J. Fiske of Walpole, Edward A. Harukewicz and his wife Joyce Jordan of Walpole, Donna M. Harukewicz of Needham and the late Charles A. Harukewicz Jr. Cherished uncle of Melissa and James Harukewicz.
Robert “Bob” Harukewicz, affectionately known to many as “Orr,” devoted his life to God, his family, and his friends. For 35 years, he volunteered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, bringing joy and comfort to children with serious illnesses and their families. Bob also gave his time as a Big Brother, mentoring young men and guiding them toward brighter futures.
His commitment to helping others extended to his son’s Boy Scout troop, where he taught valuable life skills and fostered a love for the outdoors. Helping boys discover the beauty of nature was one of his great passions.
Bob was a 1976 graduate of Norwood High School. He then went on to graduate from Wentworth Institute getting a bachelor’s degree.
Bob had a deep love for the water. He completed a captain’s course and became an experienced sailor. His professional career with GVW Construction spanned 30 years, during which he served as a project manager, estimator, and construction consultant. He successfully led multimillion-dollar projects, including the Canton Police Station and the Revere Magnet Middle School.
A gifted craftsman and woodworker, Bob created beautiful, one-of-a-kind furniture pieces and custom photo frames. His creativity was matched by his passion for cycling, which took him on adventures across the globe in search of new roads to ride.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025, from 4-7pm at the Kraw Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. Norwood, MA. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, 11am at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Norwood, MA. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, Norwood, MA.
