VALERIO, Ronald P. of Middleboro formerly of Norwood, Walpole and Newington, CT passed away on February 7, 2021 after a courageous battle with Leukemia at age 75. Beloved husband of Linda E (McNiff) Valerio and loving son of Concetta (Galano) Valerio and the late Romeo Valerio ; devoted father of Kriss Valerio of VT and Jodi (Valerio) Jenness and her husband Robert Simeone of Middleboro; cherished grandfather of Adam and Zackary Jenness; brother of Joann Fortnam of Middleboro, and Michael Valerio and his wife Michelle of CA.; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ronald (Ron) was born in Norwood, MA on January 16, 1946. At age 8, his family moved to Newington, CT where he graduated from Newington High School in 1963.
Shortly after graduation, Ron enlisted in the US Navy where he served on a submarine tender and learned the skill of metal fabrication and welding which would become his lifelong trade. After leaving the Navy and working for various companies in the Dedham/Norwood area Ron decided to start his own business and was the successful owner of Integrated Welding & Engineering in Dedham until his retirement in 2008.
Ron's passion was his family, music and sports. He was an avid sports fan, especially hockey and horse racing. He was active in youth sports in Norwood, Walpole, Middleboro, and Fall River. Nothing gave Ron more pleasure then coaching and teaching children to play sports while learning the life lessons needed to become confident, respectful, young men and women.
Ron enjoyed time spent with family and friends camping at the beach, NASCAR races, playing cards and pool on Friday nights, hiking with the grandchildren, competitive shuffle board and corn hole games, fishing, and playing with "the band".
Ron greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren, Adam and Zack. From the time Adam was two he and Ron (aka BP) had guitars in their hands and the music flowed. BP and Zack shared a passion for hockey and BP could always be seen at the rink cheering him on at every game and practice.
Ron's loving soul and dry sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.
A private memorial service will be held on April 10, 2021. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society 3 International Dr. , Suite 200, Rye Brook, NY 10573
