RILEY, ROSEMARY “Roe” (O’Brien) of Bourne, formerly of Norwood, passed away on February 28, 2026, at the age of 79. Beloved wife of the late John P. “Jake” Riley. Devoted and loving mother of Kevin F. Riley and his wife Danielle of Foxboro, Michael W. Riley and his wife Blake of Mansfield, and Brian C. Riley and his wife Teresa of Foxboro.

Daughter of the late William and Mary (Clancy) O’Brien. Loving sister of Patricia O’Brien and her husband Jim of Gloucester, Kate Doyle and her husband Allen of Georgia, Dennis O’Brien and his wife Nancy of Franklin, and Bernie O’Brien of Plymouth. She was predeceased by her siblings Terry and husband Joe Didick, Dino Higgins, Sue Ryan, and Billy O’Brien.

Cherished grandmother of Nolan, Caden, Grace, Curtis, Morgan, Addison, and Jake. She is also survived by her two favorite brothers in-law, David Higgins and Paul Ryan, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and extended cousins.

Roe was the retired Head School Nurse for the Town of Norwood School Department. She graduated from Norwood High School, Class of 1964, and continued her education at Boston City Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1967.

For 28 years, Roe served as a dedicated Board Member of the Norwood Circle of Hope Foundation, helping hundreds of local families through desperate times and assisting in the distribution of more than $1.5 million in financial support. Her compassion and commitment to others left a lasting impact on the community she loved.

Friends and family will always remember Roe’s open-door policy, especially during her cherished Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve gatherings. Mashnee Island held a special place in her heart. It was there that she spent her remaining years and built a second family beginning in 1970. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to her many friends and neighbors on Mashnee Island for their kindness, watchful care, and friendship over the years.

The Riley family also expresses their sincere gratitude to the staff at Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Wrentham for their compassionate and dedicated care.
