Salvatore L. Piazza

PIAZZA, SALVATORE L. of Texas, formerly of Norwood, passed away on July 13, 2023 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of the late Antoinette (Puopolo) Piazza. Devoted father of Lawrence J. Piazza and his wife Lisa of Foxboro and Andrea M. Tank and her husband Michael of TX. Son of the late Ignazio and Rose (Alfieri) Piazza. Brother of James Piazza of Norwood, Concetta Cianci of Wrentham and the late Mary Freni, Theresa Cavallaro and Elena Piazza. Cherished grandfather of Nicole Tank, Lawrence J. Piazza II, Anthony Piazza and Adrienne Tank. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.


Salvatore was born in Boston and had many adventures roaming the streets of the West End. As a young man, Sal enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee and served in Africa building roads, bridges and other structures. Here, Sal mastered the trade of air conditioning and refrigeration. After military service, he raised his family in Norwood and worked as a floor manager at a up and coming high tech electronics firm. Sal enjoyed home improvement projects, building small scale models and restoring motorcycles and cars with his son. He was blessed to live the past 20 years with his daughter and her family in Texas. Salvatore was a member of the Mason's Delta Lodge in Braintree and The Fellowship Church in Round Rock, TX.


Visiting hours will be held on Friday, July 21, 2023 from 5-8 pm at the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. Norwood, MA. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 11am at Highland Cemetery 320 Winter St. Norwood, MA 02062. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the American Heart Association.
