Sheryl “Sheri” Beda Nikolassy (Soderlind) of Norwood, MA, passed away at home on October 21, 2026 at the age of 75. She was the devoted wife to the late Anton J. “Tony “ Nikolassy.

She was born in Minot, ND to the late Dr. Arthur and Dorothy (Newman) Soderlind. After graduating from Simsbury, CT, high school, she earned her RN at Russell Sage College and went on to receive an MS from Boston University. Sheri spent her working life as a community nurse in the Boston area, a job she loved.

It was not just nursing that Sheri loved. She also enjoyed traveling, whether as a tag-along on Tony’s business trips, or cruising with her family. Live theater was her passion, be it high school musicals, community theater, or professional productions. An enthusiastic gardener, she waged never-ending battle with live rabbits, all the while decorating her home with pictures of bunnies.

Sheri leaves behind her beloved daughter, Bethany Nikolassy, as well as her younger sister, Linda Turner, her long-time caregivers, Monica and Anne and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband, and her youngest sister, Deborah Shaffer.

Sheri’s Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2026, at 10:00 AM in Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 24 Berwick Street, Norwood.

Sheri will be laid to rest privately.
