Stanley J. Wasil

WASIL, STANLEY J. "Stan" a lifelong resident of Norwood, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 23, 2019 at the age of 92. Beloved husband of Theresa and devoted father of Paul and his wife Suzanne, Linda and her husband Adam, Judith and Jean. Brother of the late Richard Wasil. Cherished grandfather of 6 grandchildren. Son of the late Stanley and Emilya Wasilauskas. Stan was a 1945 graduate of Norwood High School and a WWII US Army Air Force Veteran. He had a lifelong love of learning and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College. He was affiliated with numerous social, religious and civic groups including Norwood Town Meeting member, Knights of Lithuania, Knights of Columbus, NARFE and the Norwood Train Transportation Committee among others. He enjoyed traveling, candlepin bowling, reading daily newspapers (especially the Boston Globe and the WSJ), Polka music and dancing. In his later years, Stan was part of the Sunrise of Norwood community. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, Feb. 28th from 3-7pm at the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, 1248 Washington St., Norwood. Funeral Home Service will be held on Friday, March 1st at 11am also at Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, Norwood. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
