Stephen E. Marshall

Stephen E. Marshall departed this life, just as he arrived, quietly, on February 4, 2018. He was 69 years old. Born August 24, 1948 to Lewis S. and Guila W. of Hardwick, VT, Brother to Robert, Allan, Gerald, the late Sandra, Lou Ann, Denise, and Carolyn. Father to Melanie R., Stephen A., and Alexis S. Grandfather to Paige E., Luka B., Sydney and Ivan. Stephen was born in Vermont and migrated south with his family at the age of 5. He lived in Norwood and neighboring towns. He graduated from Foxborough High School in June of 1966. With his father's signature and permission, he was able to enlist prior to his 18th birthday, into the United States Army. He received basic training in New Jersey. Was assigned to Headquarter Company then deployed to Vietnam. He spent three years in Country. He was deeply patriotic. He deeply adored family and friends. Thoroughly enjoyed working in the trades as a carpenter. Stephen was not a religious man. He was more spiritual and would delight in the glory of God's beauty by the adoring nature. His age and illness transformed him into a quiet, simple man who preferred not to stand on ceremony. He preferred not to indulge in end of life pageantry. He kindly requests you to reflect quietly with regards to him, with kind words, or a prayer, Nothing more. Thank you, Jeannine D. Lifelong friend and companion.
