Theodore J. Callahan, age 90,of Norwood, passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at the German Centre in West Roxbury. He was the devoted and loving husband of Lillian (Kaseta) Callahan of Norwood.
Born in Salem, Massachusetts, Theodore was one of four children born to the late Theodore A. and Christine F. (Hurley) Callahan. He was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1953.
A proud and patriotic man, Theodore enlisted in the United States Army during the Korean War era. He served honorably overseas for more than two years and attained the rank of Specialist Third Class (SP-3) before receiving his honorable discharge.
Following his military service, Theodore pursued his education in architecture and went on to enjoy a long and fulfilling career. He spent much of his working years employed with Ganteaume & McMullen. In his retirement years, Theodore worked with the Norwood Permanent Building Construction Committee on various projects.
Outside of work, Theodore had a lifelong fascination with clocks and enjoyed antiquing in search of unique treasures and collectibles. Above all else, he cherished his family and treasured the time spent creating lasting memories with those he loved most.
In addition to his beloved wife, Theodore is survived by his children, Christian Callahan and his wife, Colleen, of Ringoes, New Jersey, and Heather Callahan of Bridgewater, Maine; his grandchildren, Christian Callahan, Jr., Madison Alix, Quinn Callahan, and John Callahan; his siblings, Christine Sorgini and John Callahan and his wife, Maureen; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Theodore was predeceased by his sister, Mary Paulucci.
Visiting hours will be held on TUESDAY, July 7, 2026, from 9:00–10:30 a.m. at the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, 1248 Washington Street, Norwood, MA.
His Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Church, 176 Washington Street, East Walpole, MA.
Theodore will be laid to rest in Highland Cemetery in Norwood.
