Thomas H Judge

JUDGE, THOMAS H. of Norwood passed away peacefully surrounded by many loving family members on February 6, 2025 at the age of 98. Belove husband for 72 years to Lois J. (Whelan) Judge. Devoted father of Marie F. Judge-Hurd of W. Roxbury, Kathleen E. Tucker and her husband Kenneth of Norton and Alice J. Gillan and her husband Allan of Scituate. Thomas grew up in Lowell as the son of the late Harold and Katherine (Wholey) Judge, and brother of the late Paul G. Judge and Catherine T. Judge. Cherished grandfather of Rev. Wallace Hurd and his wife Alison, Michelle Tyer, Lisa Tucker, Katherine Drain and her husband Stephen, Michael, Thomas and Margaret Gillan. Great grandfather of Ayden, Luke and Maeve. As a young man, Thomas joined the Army during WWII and served as a Sergeant stationed with the Army Air Corp in the Aleutian Islands, Alaska. After his time in the Army, Thomas spent most of his professional career as an equipment specialist for the Natick Army Labs where he worked on developing and improving military survival equipment such as parachutes, bulletproof vests and MREs. At the end of his career, he traveled the country demonstrating his expertise and knowledge bulletproof suit coats. His family is very proud of his dedicated service to our country and his community. Thomas was President of TRIAD, Chair of the Norwood Airport Commission, Chairman of the Norwood Council of Aging, President of the local AARP and longtime member of the Norwood Senior Center. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025 from 10-11:30am at the Kraw Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. Norwood, MA. Following the visitation a funeral mass will be held noon at St. Mary’s Church, E. Walpole MA. Burial with US Army honors will be at Highland Cemetery, Norwood, MA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Norwood Senior Center, 275 Prospect St, Norwood, MA 02062.
