Timothy John McCormack, 71, of Norwood, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2026, with his family by his side after a long battle with cancer.

Tim was born in Boston on March 18, 1955, and spent the majority of his life in Norwood. He graduated from Norwood High School in 1973 and went on to serve in the United States Air Force as a weapons loader working on military aircraft during the Vietnam era.

A CNC machinist by trade, Tim built a long career working with his hands and solving problems. He spent the final 21 years of his career at GE Aviation as an Industrial Maintenance Technician before retiring in 2025. He took great pride in his work and was especially proud to have played a role in the production of military aircraft engines.

Family was always an important part of his life, and he was especially involved in his children’s lives and activities as they were growing up. He spent many years volunteering as a coach and Boy Scout leader and was an active member of the Norwood Parents Music Association. More recently, he embraced his role as Papa, spending several weeks each year in Florida with his grandson, Logen.

Outside of work and family, Tim was a loyal New England sports fan and had an appreciation for classic cars. He also loved camping, and especially enjoyed spending his summers at Sutton Falls Camping Area.

Tim is survived by his wife, MaryAnn (Garofalo); children, Jason and his wife, Lauren, of Holbrook, Kaitlyn and her partner, Stephen O'Brien, of Milford, and Brandan of Ocala, Florida; and grandson, Logen of Ocala, Florida. He is also survived by his sisters, Maureen Lawes and her husband, Gordon, and Joanne Lowe and her husband, William, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

He was predeceased by his father, Timothy Joseph McCormack; mother, Barbara (Kundert) McCormack Griffin; and stepfather, Daniel Griffin, all of Norwood.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, September 25, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, 1248 Washington Street, Norwood. A Funeral Service will follow at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m., with interment afterward at Highland Cemetery, 320 Winter Street, Norwood.
