Vincent J. Savio, age 97, passed away peacefully on the evening of Monday, February 23, 2026, at the German Centre in West Roxbury. He was the devoted and loving husband to Theresa (Celona) Savio, who passed away on June 19, 2011.
Born in Boston, Vincent was one of six children born to his Italian immigrant parents, the late Joseph V. and Dominica (Perotti) Savio. He was raised and grew up in East Boston, attending Boston Public Schools.
Vincent’s educational journey began at Boston Technical High School, where he laid the foundation for his future endeavors, graduating in 1945. He further pursued his passion for engineering and business, achieving an associate degree from Lincoln Institute of Northeastern University and later obtaining a bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University.
His academic accomplishments propelled Vincent into a rewarding career, during which he worked many years as a Mechanical Engineer for renowned organizations such Boston Technology Cambridge Company, MITRE Lincoln Laboratory, Viatron, Printer Technology, and Lifeline. Vincent was not only a skilled professional but also a constant learner, driven by a desire to broaden his horizons throughout his life.

He found great joy in gardening, as well as in repairing items around the house, showcasing his hands-on skills. He also enjoyed watching football and hockey and going on his daily walks. Vincent kept his mind sharp by being an avid reader, solving sudoku puzzles, and playing card games. Above all, Vincent was at most happy when he was in the presence of and making memories with his dear family, especially on his vacations to Ogunquit, Maine.
Vincent's faith played a central role in his life as he was an active parishioner at St. Timothy Catholic Church. His involvement in the church exemplified his dedication to his spiritual life.
Vincent is survived by his proud and cherished children: Stephanie Ginty and her husband Edward of Norwood, Elaine Munchbach and her husband George of Norwood, and Joseph Savio and his wife Karen of Norwood; his 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and also, numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
