ADAMONIS, WALTER S. a lifelong resident of Norwood passed away on Nov. 5, 2016 at the age of 95. Beloved husband of 68 yrs. to Genevieve (Mazukina) Adamonis. Devoted father of Nancy J. Greeley and her husband John J. of Reading and Beverly A. Bonner and her husband James J. of Norwood. Brother of the late Edward Adamonis and Jean T. Adamonis. Cherished grandfather of Walter E. Greeley and William E. Greeley. Son of the late Joseph and Anna (Taraskevicz) Adamonis. Walter graduated from Boston Trade High School. He was a member of the former St. Peter's Catholic Church in Norwood and was the first baby baptized at the church which his father helped build. An avid card player earning more than 500 masterpoints, Walter was a member of the Puritan Bridge Club in Braintree. He enjoyed mushrooming, fishing, picking blueberries, clamming, world traveling, and the love of his family. Walter was a mechanic at Bird & Son and co-owned Installation Mechanics Co. Inc., both in Norwood; and later worked for Royal Zenith Co. in NY. Visiting hours are 4-8pm Wednesday Nov. 9, 2016 at Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. Norwood, MA.  Funeral is 9am Thursday Nov. 10, 2016 at the Funeral Home, followed by a 10am Mass at St. Mary Parish E. Walpole, MA. Burial is at Highland Cemetery in Norwood, MA with US Air Force Military Honors. Walter was a WWII US Army Air Forces Veteran and a Korean War US Air Force Veteran.  He was a flight engineer with a rank of T/Sergeant, ferrying airplanes around the world.  He wrote 3 books in his 80s to preserve those memories:  I Flew the Fireball, My Memories of WWII and My Memories of the Korean War.
