William E. Lyons

LYONS, WILLIAM E. of Norwood passed away on Dec. 7, 2016 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of 53yrs to the late Mary "Molly" (Cullen) Lyons. Devoted father of William  P. Lyons of Hudson, M. Arlene Scanlon and her husband Mark of Merrimack, NH, Karen L. Ciardi and her husband Robert of Wellesley, Thomas A. Lyons and his wife Kim of Darien, CT and Stephen J. Lyons and his wife Jill of Cumming, GA. Cherished grandfather of Emily Lyons, Joshua Scanlon, Kathryn Lyons, Alex Scanlon, Kailey Lyons, Natalie Ciardi, Katelyn Lyons, Stephen Lyons, Keara Lyons and Matthew Lyons. Brother of the late Mary Gardner, Joseph Lyons and Helena Sullivan. Son of the late Anthony and Mary (Hynes) Lyons. William was a member of the Norwood ELKS and VFW. During the Korean War he was a US Navy veteran and served on the Cruiser ship Robert A. Owens. He was an avid Red Sox Fan, loved gardening, deep sea fishing and especially loved strawberry ice cream. Funeral from the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. Norwood, MA Monday, Dec. 12, 2016 at 10am followed by a funeral mass at 11am in St. Catherine of Siena Church Norwood, MA. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016 from 2-5pm. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery with US Navy Honors. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a Veterans Charity of your choice.
