William Anthony "Tony" Locke

LOCKE, WILLIAM ANTHONY "Tony" of Norwood passed away on December 30, 2022 at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Florentine M. (Fleming) Locke. Devoted father of Florentine K. Locke-Overko and her partner Mark French and Kimberly J. Locke. Cherished grandfather of Korinna M. Locke, Esq. and her fiancée Ryan Quinn and Florentine Eva Overko. Loving son of the late E. Hilda (Berry) Locke and brother of Christine A. Portanova and her husband Paul, and the late Reginald A., Peter S., and Julian L. Locke. Treasured Uncle to Morgan, Sabrina, Peter, Christopher, Kevin, Sean, Julian, and Aaron. Tony was born in Swansea South Wales in the United Kingdom and immigrated to the United States in the mid-1950's. He joined the US Air Force and served during the Cuban Missile Crisis when he met and then married the love of his life and settled in Norwood to raise their family. He was a master mechanical tinkerer who could make any engine run and most of his professional life was centered around this skill. He was an avid fisherman, expert cribbage player, talented woodworker, outdoorsman, and nature lover that had a special connection to all animals, his beloved Westies and birds in particular. He served as a former president of the West Highland White Terrier Club of New England and was a member of many candlepin bowling teams in Norwood throughout the years. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from 4-8pm at the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. Norwood, MA. A funeral home service will be held on Tuesday evening January 3, 2023 starting at approximately 7:30pm. A military service and burial will be conducted at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Salvation Army www.salvationarmyusa.org or to the Westie Foundation of America www.westiefoundation.org
