Winona M. (Talbot) Beatty

BEATTY, WINONA M. (Talbot) of East Walpole formerly of Norwood and Westwood MA, passed away on September 8, 2021 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 88 years old. Nona was born on November 27, 1932 in Camden, ME. She was the daughter of G. Hartford Talbot and Alice (Griffin) Talbot. Nona leaves her beloved husband of 68 years, James Frederick Beatty. She was a devoted mother to her five children. She leaves Lynn Brown and her husband Jack of Walpole MA; Suzan Cullen and her husband Mike of Amherst, NH; Steven Beatty and his wife Lynn of S. Easton, MA; Janet Cavanaugh and her husband John of E. Walpole, MA; as well as the late J. Talbot Beatty. She was the cherished grandmother of 11 grandchildren: Jason Brown, Kristen Rongone, Patrick Brown, Erin Cullen, Timothy Cullen, Jenna Denis, James Beatty, Christina Beatty, Ryan Beatty, Alison Beatty and the late Mark Beatty. Nano/Noni was the adored great grandmother of 13 children: Isabella, Jaxson, Tia, Aylah, Caroline, Brynn, Savannah, Bryce, Evelyn, Natalie, Teddy, Albie and Joey. She also leaves her sister Charline Newcomb of Milton, MA; her deceased brother G. Hardy Talbot; her cousin Joseph Talbot of Maine; her brother-in-law Rich Beatty of Northampton, MA; many nieces, nephews,friends, and her beloved little white dog Abigail Elizabeth.
Nona and her husband Jim established the Mug 'N Muffin in Norwood, MA in 1974 and subsequently sold and went to work for her son Tal at Bird Park Cafe in Walpole, MA. In 1993, she and her husband along with their son Steven, established Stonebridge Cafe in Brockton, MA from which she retired. Nona will be remembered for her delicious homemade soups and chowders. She loved her customers and they loved her. Nona loved to sing, especially harmonizing with her sister. She knit beautiful Christmas stockings and cooked tremendous meals, no matter how large the crowd. She loved Patsy Cline, lobster, champagne and chardonnay. She truly enjoyed time with her family and friends in MA, Bonita Springs, FL and especially at Lake Baboosic in Amherst, NH. Nona was a woman of substance and perseverance. She was so kind, appreciative and very welcoming to everyone. Nona will be sorely missed.
All services will be private. Arrangements by the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, Norwood, MA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to Old Colony Hospice 321 Manley St. W. Bridgewater, MA 02379.
