Our Story

Learn our story, from the beginning and into the future.

Ever since we opened our gates we have approached life (and death) differently. While some just see the end of a loved one’s life as a time for grief and mourning, we prefer to think of it as a time for reflection, appreciation and even celebration. This is evident in everything we do, from the way we conduct our services to the amenities we choose to offer. We are not a burial ground. We are a close knit community dedicated to honoring, sharing and preserving the amazing and inspirational stories that are life.

Why Us?

In a nutshell? Experience, professionalism, compassion, and empathy.

Why Us?

We've learned a lot over many years. Like how to present options without overwhelming. And how to meet the needs of many caring parties. People come to us in difficult times, and we respond kindness, calmness and expertise. Our goal is to create a beautiful occasion and make you feel welcome, always. We spend our days planning with families. We stay up to date with industry developments. And we make hard times a little easier.

Learn the legacy.

1947

Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home was founded by Paul H. Kraw. The original name was Paul H. Kraw Funeral Home, and was built in 1947, in Norwood, Massachusetts. The facility was built with two small chapels on one floor, for easy visitation.

1958

In 1958, Paul’s brother-in-law, George Kornack, joined him as a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. In 1965 another addition was built onto the funeral home to make the chapels larger.

1975

Sadly, in 1975 Paul H. Kraw died suddenly of a heart attack at the age of 52. George Kornack took over as owner and Funeral Director, thus changing the name to Kraw Funeral Home.

1983

In 1983 John Paul Kornack, son of George Kornack and nephew of Paul H. Kraw, joined the Funeral Home as an apprentice and in 1985 became a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. The funeral home was then named to Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home in 1985.

1987

In 1987 another addition was built onto the front of the building, to enclose the steps in glass and make the front entrance larger.

1999

In 1999 a major renovation took place at the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, which added a third chapel with new restrooms that are handicap accessible.

Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, Inc. was established years ago, and serving families has always been our focus. We take pride in being able to guide people through some of their most difficult days. We take pride in maintaining a setting that allows people to find solace. Celebrating life is our mission. That’s never changed. And with pride, it never will.
